RACE CALENDAR
1.   Approval for a race date shall be obtained from the National Event Co-ordinator. Each application shall be accompanied by a payment of £20 per event for inclusion in the National Handbook Calendar of Events and for race insurance.

POLICE PERMISSION
2.   The responsibility for making a race application to the appropriate police authority lies with the race promoter or promoting organisation and shall be made directly by the race organiser.
3.      Applications using the appropriate LVRC forms must be made to all police authorities through whose area the race runs, at least six weeks in advance, giving details of course, date, starting time, etc. Copies of the police approval documents and race programme shall be sent to the respective Police Headquarters and local police at least seven days before the event.

HIGHWAYS REGULATIONS
4.      All events on the public highway must be held in accordance with The Cycle Racing on Highways Regulations 1960 (and 1980 and 1995 Amendment Regulations).
5. All courses or circuits must be approved by the police.

LVRC RACE LICENCE/MEMBERSHIP
6.   All British riders in an LVRC event must be members of the LVRC at the time of entering and riding an event. LVRC Racing Licences must be produced by all British entrants at the time of signing on to obtain a race number which must then be worn on the race jersey for the duration of the event.

RESULTS
7.   Two result sheets must be sent to the National Results Co-ordinator and to all who supply a stamped addressed envelope for that purpose.

LVRC TROPHIES
8.   LVRC championship trophies are perpetual and remain the property of the LVRC. Members are responsible for arranging the return of any trophy won by them to the LVRC Quartermaster before the next year’s running of the event concerned.

EVENT PRIZES
9.  Prizes must be given for each age/ability category, except in the case of handicap races.

RACE FINANCE
10.  A Balance Sheet, together with any profit from the event, shall be sent to the Regional Treasurer as soon as possible after the event.
11.  In the case of a financial loss on the promotion of a regional event, applications can be made to the Regional Treasurer for a reasonable reimbursement.

AGE CATEGORIES
12  (a).  LVRC categories are designated as follows: A, 40-44; B, 45-49; C, 50-54; D, 55-59; E, 60-64; F, 65-69; G, 70+. Members will change category on their appropriate birthday and when entering races must quote the age category that they will be in on the day of the race.
12  (b). Lady members will normally ride in the category appropriate to a man 10 years older ( i.e. 2 groups higher) including championship races.
13.  All members are encouraged to ride in a category in which they feel comfortable. Therefore those who wish to do so because of varying ability may at any time enter to ride with a different age category (except in the case of championship events). Riders competing in an older category shall not be eligible for a prize.
14. Championship road races will be run for each category and medals, provided by the LVRC, will be awarded to the first three in each category, together with the LVRC championship jersey to the winner of each category. All categories shall race in separate events, except where the number of riders does not justify it.
15. The age and/or category entered for each rider must appear on the start sheet and on the signing-on sheet.

VEHICLE WARNING SIGNS          
16.   Official vehicles required at all events on public roads are: lead vehicle, which must carry signs stating “CARE CYCLE RACE APPROACHING”, a Race Controllers vehicle and a vehicle carrying a race official and a first aid attendant. All vehicles must carry a LVRC “CYCLE RACE OFFICIAL” sign and a rear pointing sign stating “CAUTION CYCLE RACE IN PROGRESS”.

SIGNING ON SHEETS AND LVRC LEVY
17.   LVRC signing on sheets must be completed in duplicate. The organiser must hand the bottom copy to the Chief Judge at least ten minutes before the start of the event. The top copy, together with 50p LVRC levy for every listed rider, must be sent to the Regional Treasurer, as soon as possible after the event, for retaining for the legal time requirement of six years.
18. All competitors must leave their current LVRC racing licence with the signing-on controller and sign on before receiving a race number. Licences will be returned to competitors when their race numbers are handed in after the finish of the event.

PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR
19.The wearing of heard-shell helmets is mandatory in all events held under LVRC events. This must be stated in all LVRC race programmes.
20. Tri-bars. Tri-bars and Spinaci-type bars are not allowed in LVRC road races.

ENTRIES TO EVENTS
21.The standard entry fee for all one day events shall be £6.
22. For stage races, the entry fee shall be at the organiser’s discretion.
22. The closing date for entries shall be two weeks before the day of the event. Entries to be accepted for all events on the basis of first received, first accepted.
24. All entries must be accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope.

ENTRIES ON THE DAY
25.   Entries on the line are at the event organiser’s discretion and can only be accepted if a full field of riders has not signed on. All entries on the line will always be subject to the following conditions:
A.      Existing members must fully complete an LVRC Standard Entry Form and pay double the standard race entry fee before being allowed to sign on.
B.  Non-members must complete both the LVRC Membership Application Form and the standard race entry form. They pay  £10 membership fee and double the standard race entry fee before being allowed to sign on.
C.  Foreign riders who permanently reside outside the UK will be granted free day membership on completion of the LVRC Membership Application Form.   (Organisers please mark form ‘Foreign Rider’ before sending it to the National Registrar.) They must also complete the standard race entry form and pay double the standard race entry fee before being allowed to sign on.
D.  As soon as possible after the event the Organiser must send all new LVRC Membership Application Forms and fees to the relevant Regional Registrar.

TIME TRIALS
26.  Time trials must be run under the relevant Rules and Recommendations together with any special conditions of the LVRC.
SUSPENSION FOLLOWING POSITIVE DRUGS TEST
27.  A rider suspended by another cycling governing body as a result of a positive drug test is barred from competing in LVRC events during the period of his/her suspension.
