Results :

On a beautiful day for racing a good field of riders faced 4 laps of a 10 mile circuit including one long climb which was of sufficient length to put the peloton under pressure. Don Parry, Team Corley Cervelo, attacked first time up the climb but was pulled back after about 5 miles. This was almost immediately followed by ex local rider Dave Brown, now with CC Luton, attacking on the long tough undulating head wind section which preceded the climb. Brown established a 30 second gap and Parry went across on the climb and these two worked well together for over 25 miles and stayed  clear by over a minute until the finish where Parry took the win from Brown. Chris Gunter, Virgin Active clipped off the front of the peloton to take 3rd and Terry Devine was 4th.
