03/04/2011 - SOLIHULL EARLY SEASON CIRCUIT RACES

The first LVRC race on  the Solihull Tudor Grange Cycle Circuit took place on Sunday 3 April. The weather was good if a little fresh with a reasonable south easterly breeze making the legs into the finish and round the turn into the rising part of the track fairly challenging to those on the front.

The A,B,C race stayed together reasonably well throughout the race until Phil Blacker and Peter Georgi managed to get clear towards the end of the hour. There were a few rider “tumbles” during the race with the last occurring in the bunch dash to the line when a tub rolled off one of the riders' tyres. The riders who came off were generally OK except for varying degrees of road rash. Peter Georgi went over the line first to win the race.

The D,E,F,G race split into three groups fairly early in the race. All of the riders worked hard to try and either keep away or close the gaps down but in the end a group of three including Mike Allen managed to keep everyone at bay with Mike Allen winning the sprint for the line.
